Tumbling Bay Fish Pass info evening @ Seminar Room, West Oxford Community Centre

Changes afoot at Tumbling Bay? Come and find out more this Thursday!

The Environment Agency is about to apply for planning permission to install a fish pass at Tumbling Bay (which lies in the north-eastern corner of Botley Park). This would be a small new channel running along the back of the site, mostly quite close to the back fence.

The need for this and further details of the plans are outlined in the attachments.

They are keen to know what local people think, and they have arranged a meeting to explain the proposals and to hear your views.  The meeting is on Thursday 15 November at 8pm in the seminar room at the side of WOCC, with apologies for the short notice.

Some trees and bushes would need to be removed, but they are planning extensive replacement planting. If permission is given, the City Council Parks Department will make sure this is carried out promptly and sensitively.

The City Council will also want to know your views in favour of or against this project, and any concerns you may have. Once the application has been submitted, you are welcome to write to planning@oxford.gov.uk
