Oxfordshire’s Great Big Green Week launches with the ‘Walk for Life on Earth’ (12.30) and an opening party in Broad St (1.45 – 4.30pm)!

Join the ‘Walk for Life on Earth’  family-friendly procession from Oxford train station (Frideswide Sq) via Bonn Square and the city centre to the launch at Broad St.  The Walk will be led by some colourful endangered species (puppets and costumes). Everyone is welcome.

If you are based near Banbury, the ‘endangered species’ will be walking through Banbury at 10am (from Banbury Cross) before coming by train (at 11.59 from Banbury) to Oxford.

The launch event is in the Broad Meadow area in Broad St. Oxford from  at 1.45 – 4.30pm.

We’ve got:

  • Music from great local acts, including rising young Oxford star Jen Berkova, leading local rapper Rawz, and a string quartet from the Oxford-based ‘Orchestra for the Earth’
  • A local food ‘Cook Up Challenge’ by Good Food Oxfordshire
  • WhatNot Theatre will entertain children and adults with ‘Voyage To The Trash Vortex’ – a wild saga of pirates and plastic!  (3pm)
  • Anneliese Dodds MPs will launch the week along with speakers from Oxfordshire organisations
