The cause:

This year the funds will go to Nonceba, which is a shelter for women who have survived domestic violence or have been victims of human trafficking. Most women in the shelter are HIV positive, are struggling to access healthcare and have received limited education and training.

The funds will also go towards the Marie Colvin Journalists’ Network, a project of the Circle. Marie was a journalist who was killed in Homs, Syria, and her friends set up this legacy project to support women in having a voice in fragile and dangerous states. The project trains, mentors and supports young female journalists in the Arab world, ensuring their stories and issues are shared globally.
