Climate Strike! Organising for Sept 20th [external event organised by consortium] @ Oxford Town Hall | United Kingdom

Opportunity to discuss and participate in planning for the September 20th strikes, organised by group of different interested parties.  Facebook event here.

The plan is, September 20th, we do what the students have been doing for months – we all ditch work and strike for the climate!

This is part of an international mobilisation (see below articles), but to make it big (like really fricken HUGE), we need to start at home. So for us, that means Oxford.

Come along to this meeting (Council Chamber) to hear about the strike plans, plus join in organising!

There will be speakers from Oxford Youth Climate Action, the National Education Union, the Communication Workers’ Union and the Trades Union Council to briefly update people on plans to date. We’ll then have break-out sessions to discuss how we can all contribute – through our unions, campaigning groups, friend groups or whatever else.

It doesn’t matter how, but we all need to join the strike on the 20th!

N.B. If you’re not with the Labour party, obviously no worries! This is for everyone fighting the climate crisis and the economic system fueling it. If you want to create your own event to encourage people to come to this meeting, please do! All we’re doing is calling it.
