News from Oxford City Council of an upcoming solution for electric vehicle charging in Oxford:

Charge Fairy (https://chargefairy.com/) are a mobile electric vehicle charging company, who are able to charge vehicles overnight where they are parked, on the road, via a mobile rapid charger housed in an electric van. Battery levels are remotely monitored, and top up requirements set up via an app. Their focus is to support residents and also fleets moving to electric vehicles who are not able to have home/depot chargers installed, or need a back-up to ensure their vehicle charge levels never drop below a set level.

As part of an Innovate grant they will be launching a trial of their service in Oxford City from March 2022 to the end of April 2022.

Oxford City Council is not a partner in this project, but are interested in understanding the outcome of the trial, and the role mobile charging may play in supporting residents parking onstreet, in particular working drivers and drivers with mobility impairments.

They are also looking for trial customers (residents or fleets). So if you are interested in finding out more, you can get in touch with James Hewitt at Charge Fairy at (james@chargefairy.com  or 07971571974).
