West Oxford tree planting - come show you're keen! @ Mary Town Room, West Oxford Community Centre | England | United Kingdom

Planting trees is something we can all do right now to combat climate change. To date, LCWO volunteers have planted nearly 2000 trees, across Botley and Oatlands Parks, and Hogacre Common Eco-Park.  We are keen to plant more this winter.

Join your neighbours and Direct Services Countryside and Play Supervisor Julian Cooper to find out how you can involved in planting trees in West Oxford.  The City Council is ready to support us, but we need to demonstrate our enthusiasm locally, and show that there are enough local residents who are willing to plant and nurture the trees in their first few years of life (e.g. weeding and mulching over the next 5 years).  At a recent meeting in Marston, over 40 people turned up to pledge their practical support, and we need to aim for the same.

So if you are keen to plant more trees in our area, and do something hands on and effective to fight the climate emergency, come along to this quick meeting, and bring your friends!

This planting will form part of OxFoE’s Trees for Climate Oxfordshire initiative, which you can read more about here: https://www.oxfoe.co.uk/oxford-friends-of-the-earth/nature/trees-for-climate-oxfordshire/

This event will follow on from the first ACT Now workshop, starting at 10 at WOCA.  Why not come to that first?
