West Oxford Environmental Business Scorecard open meeting @ Online event
Join us to find out what we have done so far and how you can be part of what happens next.

About this Event

Over the past year, we have been putting together an environmental scorecard for businesses based in West Oxford on the Botley Road retail park.

We are developing the LCWO Business Scorecard to

  • Help accelerate carbon emission reduction by local businesses in a way that creates practical benefit for staff, environment and the community;
  • Get West Oxford businesses to think about and consult residents about their impact on local community – whether carbon emissions, flooding, traffic/congestion, air pollution, biodiversity, beauty;
  • Help customers and residents to understand the environmental sustainability performance of the large companies operating in West Oxford. By flagging where businesses could do better, customers can choose to change where they shop, or engage with businesses to request improvements.

The scorecard has two halves – one half looks at coporate indicators; the second looks at local indicators. We have completed the research to inform the scoring for the corporate indicators, and are now looking to complete scoring for the second park, looking locally, by early summer.

Some interesting things have already emerged – about how land ownership works, and about which companies are leaders and which are laggards when it comes to corporate scoring.

Come along to this informal evening to meet the team working on this project. We’ll cover:

– Why a scorecard?

– What we have found out so far and the corporate indicators

– Introduction to the local indicators, including and opportunity for feedback and how to help going forward with collecting the information we need

– The chance for you to chose the priority indicators for campaigning and engagement going forwards

– Time for questions and discussion throughout

This event is free and no expertise is neccessary – all welcome!
