WOCR was registered as an Industrial and Provident Society on 16th June 2009. It has a set of rules for governance approved by the Financial Services Authority which also recommended our code of practice.
WOCR will operate for the benefit of the community on a ‘one member, one vote’ principle, irrespective of the size of a member’s shareholding. Members will elect a Board of Directors at an Annual General Meeting on a three-year rotation to manage the affairs of the Society. The Founding Directors stood down at the Special General Meeting on 9th December 2009 and a new Board was elected.
