The transport group aims to promote the use of low carbon means of transport.

During 2009, it helped set up a local StreetCar scheme which now has two cars . 170 people have become members of the scheme and at least three families have given up owning a car as a result. It is estimated that membership of Streetcar reduces car travel by 20% - our membership would therefore save around 80 tonnes per annum.
The group also contributed to the successful city campaign to obtain the 20 mph speed limit on residential roads which should contribute to a long term shift encourage people to walk and cycle locally.
They also persuaded the County Council to lower traffic speeds in the 60 mph area of Binsey Lane and tackling speeding on Ferry Hinksey Road.
In association with Cyclox, we've updated our list of small-scale improvements that would help people walk and cycle through, to and from West Oxford. See the Cyclox website for more details.
